Quick answers
The questions people ask first
Each answer comes from a Helix Reader question and links to it for the key points and the evidence.
What is a peptide?
A short chain of amino acids joined by peptide bonds. Two amino acids already make a dipeptide; past roughly fifty, most people say protein, although the line is a habit of speech rather than a rule. What makes a molecule a peptide walks through the bond.
Is BPC-157 approved, and is there a dose?
No regulator has approved BPC-157 and no human trial has shown a safe or effective amount, so no established dose exists. It is also prohibited in sport. How to read a BPC-157 dosage page lists the fields such pages leave out.
Does bacteriostatic water need to be refrigerated?
The label of a widely used bacteriostatic water says to store it at room temperature, 20 to 25 C, and the CDC advises discarding an opened multi-dose vial within 28 days unless the maker says otherwise. The storage question has the details.
What does research use only mean?
It is the seller's statement that a product is not meant for people or animals. It is not a quality grade or an approval, and it promises nothing about purity or sterility. See the research use only label.
What does 98% purity on a certificate tell you?
Only that one test, usually HPLC, put 98% of its signal in the main peak. It does not confirm the molecule's identity, the peptide content or sterility. What 98% purity means explains the missing tests.
Why is a mouse study not proof for people?
Mice differ in receptors, metabolism and lifespan, and animal studies are often small. A mouse result is a reason to test in people, not a result in people. Why a mouse result is not proof shows how to read the headline.
Does Helix Reader give doses?
No personal dosing advice. Answers quote the label dose of approved medicines with the label cited, describe study amounts in general terms and say plainly when no established human dose exists. The editorial policy sets out the rules.
